In honor of our 50th anniversary, the Roy and Diana Vagelos Division of Biology & Biomedical Sciences (DBBS) will be hosting the first Division Hooding and Recognition Ceremony as part of the university’s commencement celebrations.

The Division Hooding & Recognition Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 12, at 9:30 a.m. Check-in for both graduates and faculty hooders will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The 560 Music Center offers accessible parking and entry on the Trinity Avenue circle drive, and additional spots are reserved in the garage directly behind the building accessed from Washington Avenue. Additionally, there is ample street parking on Delmar Avenue.
Students who graduated in May, August, or December 2022, those who will graduate in May 2023, or expect to graduate in August 2023 are invited to participate in the hooding and recognition ceremony. All eligible students will be notified by email. If you are unsure if you are able to participate, please check with your Graduate Program Administrator.
Interested students must also register to participate in the University commencement celebration on May 15th.
Graduates may have one faculty member participate in their hooding. Instructions on how to select a faculty member will be included in the email invitation that will be sent to all eligible participants.
DBBS will be covering the rental cost of regalia for graduates participating in the Hooding and Recognition Ceremony. After you have RSVP’ed, you will receive a link to reserve your regalia through the bookstore.
Please do not order from the bookstore directly.
Please note: regalia is required for participation in commencement ceremonies.
The deadline to reserve your regalia is April 7, 2023.
Graduates may include their children during the ceremony.
