M. Catalina “Cat” Camacho, PhD
Lab Director, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry
Cat completed her PhD in Neurosciences at WashU in 2022 and her BA in Psychology at Stanford in 2014. Cat studies the neurodevelopment that underlies emotion processing with the larger goal of understanding how socio-emotional dysfunctions associated with anxiety and depression come about. Outside of research, Cat enjoys board games, watching movies, drawing, and cooking. https://www.catcamacho.net/
Shelby Kessler, BS
Clinical Research Coordinator
Shelby graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a B.S. in Psychology, as well as a minor in Women’s Studies. Shelby has experience in working with adolescents and adults in multiple settings such as residential, hospitals, and youth centers. Shelby currently coordinates multiple studies.
Mia Sawicki, BA
Professional Rater
Mia is a Rater in the CRAB lab. She recently graduated from Pomona College with a BA in Neuroscience and French. She is interested in the plasticity of the human brain during early development, and she is eager to learn more at WashU. She hopes to attend medical school and become an academic physician. Outside of the lab, Mia enjoys reading, dancing, and yoga.
Alyssa Weinrich, BA

Alyssa Weinrich is from Saint Louis, Missouri and holds a B.A. in Psychological & Brain Sciences and Philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis. Alyssa has experience working in both academic and clinical research settings with both adults and children, with her focus being on resilience to, development of, and treatment for trauma-related internalizing disorders.
