Welcome!
The Comparative Politics Annual Conference (CPAC) at the Department of Political Science, Washington University in Saint Louis, has the dual purpose of discussing cutting-edge research and providing our students with the opportunity to meet leading scholars in the field. The one-day conference is held every year at the end of the Spring term. We normally invited seven to eight political scientists to present their research.
Notably, our graduate students play an essential role in this conference. There will be graduate student coordinators, who closely cooperate with the faculty coordinator to help organize the conference. Graduate students at the Department of Political Science also submit proposals and vote for themes. In addition, there will be a separate poster session during CPAC for graduate students to share their research and connect with the invited speakers. Graduate students are also highly encouraged to ask questions during the conference.
CPAC is generously supported by the Department of Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis. Follow us on Twitter to get updates about conference details and information!
The 12th CPAC is scheduled on April 25, 2025. The theme will be “The Politics of Marginalized Groups”. More information about the previous conferences can be found on the Events page.
