Dear graduates and family members,
We are looking forward to celebrating the Classes of 2020 and 2021 and all of your accomplishments next month. Now that registration has closed and planning is underway, we wanted to remind our community of a few important protocols to ensure everyone is safe and that we are able to proceed with the ceremonies as planned.
As you know, the Danforth Campus has been closed to outside visitors since March 2020 to ensure the safety of our students and essential workers at the university. Although St. Louis County has approved our plan for in-person Commencement ceremonies, campus will remain closed and the only exception to our visitor policy will be to allow the two guests invited by each of our registered graduates. The Danforth Campus will remain closed in the days leading up to the ceremonies, and on the day of the ceremonies, only graduates and registered guests will be allowed on campus.
In order to hold in-person ceremonies, we are required by our local health authorities to adhere to the restrictions included in the approved plan. To ensure everyone’s safety, we are required to conduct small ceremonies to ensure that the total number of people on campus remains at a safe level. If at any time the total number of people on campus exceeds the approved numbers, we are at risk of our ceremonies being canceled. We ask for your support of this important protocol.

Additionally, our Commencement team and the schools have been receiving a lot of thoughtful questions, so we would like to invite you to a Commencement Town Hall on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 6 p.m. CDT. We encourage you to submit any questions you may have in advance through this form by Tuesday, April 6, at noon CDT. We welcome you to participate virtually via this link.
