Washington University houses millions of square feet in lab space. With major equipment, chemicals, and tools, these labs consume substantial energy and resources. How can WashU researchers use a more sustainable approach to resources and thus lessen the impacts on our environment? How can lab managers promote local and sustainable purchasing habits?

The Green Labs program at Washington University is a voluntary process for reducing energy, water, waste, and chemical use in the laboratory setting while upholding the priorities of research integrity, education, and safety.

Join Alicia Hubert, Sustainability Coordinator of WUSM’s Operations & Facilities Management Department to learn about ethical and “green” approaches to lab management.
