Description of Research:
One of the major areas of research in my group is to study the neurobiology of Degenerin/epithelial sodium channels. These non-voltage gated ion channels play diverse physiological roles in epithelial and neuronal tissues. My group is focusing on studies of these channels in the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster.
