The CIMED Live Cell Imaging Facility (http://cimed.wustl.edu/downloads/LiveCellImagingFacility.pdf) has been developed to provide and further develop state-of-the-art imaging platforms for live cell measurements. CIMED is making available micro ($1000) grants in FY2014 to encourage and facilitate use of the LCIF.

General

Applications (1 page maximum) together with applicant’s CV, should be submitted to Paula Reynolds (paula@wustl.edu). The application should state the goals of the proposed research, and outline the expected usage of LCIF resources. There is no deadline and applications will be reviewed immediately. Applications do NOT need to be routed through the Grants & Contracts office.

Applicant Eligibility

Applications will be accepted from any CIMED member, and all interested WU faculty are encouraged to become CIMED faculty members; Center membership is open to any WU faculty with a primary or collaborative interest in membrane excitability and disease. To request membership, please contact the Director (cnichols@wustl.edu) or co-Director (jnerbonne@wustl.edu).

Budget

Direct costs of up to $1,000 may be requested, and the expected usage of LCIF facilities should be outlined within the 1 page limit. The intent is that these funds will be used to offset LCIF charges. Additional awards may be requested, and will be considered if justified by LCIF usage. Carry forward of funds at the budget year-end is not permitted.

Proposal Review

Each proposal will be evaluated by the CIMED Director and the LCIF Manager. Any applications that propose valid use of the LCIF can expect to be favorably reviewed.

Regulatory Approvals

As applicable, approvals may be required. These may be pending at the time of submission.
