Somieibi Cookey-Gam

Somieibi is a freshman from Houston, Texas. She is majoring in Cognitive Neuroscience with a minor in Public Health. Her research interests lie in understanding the impact of social determinants on child development and wellbeing over time and how racial biases formed in early stages of childhood shape long term perceptions. She has worked with children as a swim instructor and tutor. Outside of the lab, Somieibi plays violin in the WuPops orchestra. In her free time, she loves reading, crocheting, and practicing calligraphy.
