Another Institute for Public Health Summer Research Program came to a close with nearly 30 participants from 14 universities in the continental U.S. and Ireland attending. Students were at various stages of their academic careers ranging from undergraduate, to masters program and medical students and chose one of two tracks in which to participate during the June-July program.

Students in both tracks participated in research in a lab or field-based setting, and furthered their interest in public and global health, or, aging and neurological diseases while being guided by faculty mentors from across Washington University in St. Louis. Students participated in mandatory didactic sessions, attended topic-specific seminars and workshops, and established a career-building network with Washington University mentors, faculty, staff and their peers.
2019 Summer Research Program Final Presentations
For each participant, the summer program culminates in a final presentation which is open to all. Students present a detailed overview of the research project on which they worked with their mentor and research team. Student presentations are reviewed by a panel of faculty and staff throughout the summer and refined prior to their final exhibition.
