Debbie is a graduate student working with Todd Braver, interested in researching the neural mechanisms underlying the interactions between motivation and decision-making. She received her B.S. in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she studied developmental dyslexia and visual word processing under the tutelage of John Gabrieli. After graduation, she worked for 2 years as a research assistant for Matthew Botvinick at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute, investigating the neural underpinnings of hierarchical reinforcement learning. There, she discovered her passion for merging neuroimaging and computational techniques with cognitive control. Debbie’s main research interests include neural systems (and neuromodulators) underlying decision-making and reward processing, fMRI methods (i.e. MVPA), and reinforcement learning.
