Andrew Westbrook

Post Doc - Brown University

Andrew is a graduate student with Dr. Todd Braver. As former environmental engineer and then environmental finance consultant, Andrew became curious about how people make decisions: weighing risks and values, discounting the future and “externalities” and, occasionally, getting it right. His current interests lie at the intersection of decision making and cognitive control. Topics include the mechanisms of risk aversion, motivation, goal maintenance, effort-based discounting of rewards and volition.
