Prospective memory may be defined as remembering to remember or remembering to perform an intended action. Prospective memory is self-initiated and does not operate directly on external stimuli.  A growing literature has suggested that healthy aging is associated with disturbances in cognitive impairments and prospective memory. However, despite accumulating evidence about these age-related cognitive and neurobiological changes, there is still little understanding of whether or how they are associated. Our work will explore the multiprocess model, the underlying mechanisms involved in prospective memory.
