During the Catalysts for Change weekend experience, we offer our participants a chance to hear from an established, successful woman currently in a STEM field during their lunch. Our speakers typically talk about their journeys into their respective careers and possible research with participants.

2025 Speakers

Dr. Eden Tesfu, PhD and Dr. Megha Gupta, MD

Dr. Tesfu currently serves as a North America Structural Elucidation and Residue Analytics Lead at Bayer Crop Sciences based in Chesterfield, MO.  In this position, she leads teams of scientists focused on generating trace-level pesticide residue analytical data for risk assessment of sustainable active ingredient development for the company’s crop protection products. Dr. Tesfu is a native of Eritrea and has been a St. Louis resident since 2001.  She has worked for various companies within the St. Louis Metropolitan areas including Pfizer (Post-doctoral Researcher), EAG Labs (Scientist and Lab Manager), Monsanto (Regulatory Scientist; Compliance Manager) and Bayer.

Dr. Gupta is currently a Neurology Resident Physician at Barnes Jewish Hospital. She earned her medical degree at Duke University and her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California. As a neurologist, Dr. Gupta specializes in acute and chronic management of neurologic disorders. She has a particular interest in palliative care and critical care. She was also recently selected as the Rising Wellness Chief for her residency program and will serve her new position as Wellness Chief during the 2025-2026 year.
