Our research has focused primarily on parasitic helminth infections (filariasis) and on control/elimination of LF and other neglected tropical diseases. Our current work focuses on development of diagnostic tools for the detection of parasitic infections in the context of global health programs.
Lymphatic Filariasis
Lymphatic filariasis is a parasitic disease vectored by various mosquitoes or flies in many tropical countries. It is caused by thread-like filarial worms that may damage the lymphatics causing permanent disability.
