Tess Eckert earned her MSW with a concentration in American Indian & Alaska Native communities.  She/he received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She completed her practicum with the Denver Indian Family Resource Center and will complete her final practicum with Dr. Michael Yellowbird, co-writing curriculum on decolonizing mindfulness and neuroscience from an Indigenous perspective. She is descended from the Chickasaw Tribe of Oklahoma on her mother’s side two grandmothers back and from mixed European ancestry, on both her mother’s and father’s sides.
