The Student Coordinating Council is the elected, representative body advocating for and building community within the Master’s-level students of the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis.
SCC actions on academic and curricular advocacy and student support:
- Hold Master’s program-based (MSW, MPH, and MSP) Town Halls each semester to bring key administrators and faculty and students face-to-face to answer questions about Brown School policies and procedures.
- Sit on Brown School committees on Master’s program curricula; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and others, as relevant.
- Advocate for Brown School issues on the WashU-wide Graduate Professional Council (GPC).
- Highlight and create change on key student-body issues to the Dean, Associate and Assistant Deans, and Administration.
SCC actions working toward community building:
- Host Brown School-wide events, such as happy hours and off-campus get-togethers
- Direct involvement with New Student Orientation
- Supporting Brown School Graduation ceremonies
