This week, Evan printed all the pieces to the pump and the remaining parts had arrived late in the week. Assembly was begun and some of the pieces did not properly align with each other. This is thought to be because of the conversion between the native .ai file type given on the website. To create a file compatible with the Cura Ultimaker 3, it had to be converted from .ai→.stl in Autodesk Inventor. During this time, the unit conversions between the two files was not transferred, as well as unnoticed until after each piece was printed. Thus, the framing pieces were remodeled in Autodesk and printed on Friday. The group will continue to build the pump, making any adjustments as necessary to the design.
In terms of the joystick, the group has run into a major barrier with the acquisition software. After building prototype scripts using the Data Acquisition Toolbox, the program was unable to retrieve the latest data scan in live-time, as it was unsupported by the package. The group must now find a new toolbox that would best fit the design specifications.
