This week was primarily focused on beginning the process of prototype development. The group met with the Bauer Lab to discuss expectations of the semester. Dr. Adam Bauer was also in attendance, and provided additional expectations that he had in terms of communication and reporting to the lab during prototyping. In order to maximize the group’s time, the components of the product were split among each of the group members:
- Software development = Evan
- Water delivery and reward = Jon
- Joystick = Anish
For the next week, the lab has set goals that each component should reach:
- Software: create connectivity and visualization of joystick first using Arduino
- Water delivery: learn triggering analog I/O ports on syringe pump and footswitch as possible port for connecting the joystick to the syringe
- Joystick: begin development of physical joystick
