Jonathan Losos

Director, Living Earth Collaborative

Jonathan Losos is an internationally renowned scholar in the field of evolutionary biology. His study of the behavioral and evolutionary ecology of lizards has taken him around the globe and firmly established him as a leading international expert on the biodiversity of species. 

Dr. Losos is the director of the Living Earth Collaborative and is the William H. Danforth Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Biology at Washington University in Saint Louis. He was at Washington University from 1992 to 2006 and then moved to Harvard University, where he was the Lehner Professor for the Study of Latin America, a professor in organismic and evolutionary biology, and the curator in herpetology at the Museum of Comparative Zoology. He rejoined the Arts & Sciences faculty at Washington University in January 2018.
