Overview

This graduate-level course provides an overview of concepts in mammalian molecular genetics especially as it pertains to human diseases. Guest lecturers will give a seminar on his or her topic of research and assign a relevant paper for discussion. Students should read the assigned paper prior to each lecture and contribute to the discussion. This is a required first-year course in the Human and Statistical Genetics Ph.D. program.

Textbook

No textbook is required. Strachan and Reed’s Human Molecular Genetics is a useful reference.
