Preston joined the Ben-Shahar lab in 2023 as a graduate student in the Ecology, Evolution, and Population Biology PhD program. Preston is from Kansas. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 2021. For his thesis, Preston is investigating the potential role of brain enriched miRNAs in regulating behavioral states by using social bees and Drosophila as models.
