PhD Student in Computational & Data Sciences
Danforth Scholar

About:

I am a Ph.D. student in the Washington University in St Louis Computational & Data Sciences program. My Ph.D. is supported by the generous funding of the Danforth Scholarship.

Research Interests:

I conduct research at the intersection of applied natural language processing (NLP) and social data science. Broadly, my current research focuses on applying large language models (LLMs) and web mining tools to areas within public health policy and healthcare. My research primarily utilizes novel data sources, such as text data and mobile phone data.

My research aims to:

  • Develop large language models (LLMs) across a range of disciplines, in health policy, healthcare, and social science.
  • Employ AI and NLP tools to create predictive models that enhance policy decision-making and health outcomes.
  • Utilize novel ‘big’ data sources to address key challenges in social science, public health and policy decision-making.

You can view some of my research works at my publications page.

Bio:

I completed my Master of Science (with Distinction) in Behavioral & Data Sciences from the University of Warwick (UK) and my Bachelor of Science in Data Science at Penn State University. I was born and raised in Singapore.

My background has enabled collaborations with researchers in computational & information sciences, health & recreational sciences, tourism, behavioral sciences & decision-making.

You can find more information about me in my CV.
