Biophotonics Research Center

The Biophotonics Research Center (BRC) harnesses the power of light to develop methods for understanding, diagnosing and treating human diseases. By exploring ways to use non-invasive optical measurements for functional and molecular biological imaging, the BRC aims to change the way medicine is practiced.

Our People

Our interdisciplinary and collaborative team of biologists, chemists, engineers, medical scientists and physicists is focused on developing complete solutions — from conception to implementation, and validation to human clinical care.

Group Resources

The BRC’s optical imaging core uses high-quality optical microscopy units and modern small animal imaging and spectroscopy systems to support NIH-funded researchers making important contributions to cancer research.
