The mission of this organization is to foster a culture of oneness by ensuring the support, equity and inclusion of African American/ Black faculty and staff at Washington University in St Louis, and to bring important issues to the attention of the university’s leadership. The Cabinet will support the academic and professional development of African American/ Black faculty and staff. The Cabinet is committed to achieve these goals and objectives. Membership in this organization is open to all Washington University employees and Retirees.

OUR VISION

The Cabinet envisions a campus climate and community in which diligent efforts are made to recruit, promote and retain African American/ Black faculty, staff and senior leadership in key administrative positions. The Cabinet would like for all African American/ Black faculty and staff to have opportunities to achieve their full potential and to have a respected voice within the University community.

OUR GOALS

The goals of this organization are to:

  • Collaborate with Washington University Administration as a Decision Making Body
  • Provide community service to the University and Saint Louis Community
  • Provide academic and professional development for African American/ Black Faculty and Staff
  • Provide social interactions for African American/ Black Faculty and Staff
  • Stimulate a sense of social responsibility and cultural sensitivity to improve communication among African American/ Black Faculty and Staff
