Week 20 Report

This week we 3D printed a version of the hand pedal to take to our meeting on Monday. This version includes a semi circular platform for the upper arm with a threaded spot for a handle or grip stability device to be attached. We also gathered some initial feedback from Dr. Morgan on possible adjustments […]

Week 19 Report

This week we have set up a meeting with our client for a lab meeting in two weeks to talk with the team and go over our current designs to see how viable they are. We have also kept working on coding the circuitry on the Arduino with emphasis on the pulse oximeter. We also […]

Week 18 Report

This week we finalized our initial CAD drawing for the 3D print of our initial handle design. We also started working on the circuitry, as well as the Arduino coding that corresponds with the measurements we will be taking (HR, power).

Week 16 Report

This week we created an outline of all of the small details that need to be completed in order to finish the project. This will allow us to divide up each of the tasks so that the project can move along smoothly. We also ensured that all necessary components to begin are project are ordered.

Week 13 Report

Throughout this week, we focused mainly on the Progress Report. With this, we narrowed down our solutions to 6 main handle solutions as well as a few solutions for both the heart rate monitoring and power monitoring aspects of the design. We also created Pugh charts for each of the three components to analyze our […]

Week 12 Report

This week we considered the ethical components that could go into our design. We also started researching standards that could be important in our design. We found several standards that could be useful in our design ranging from the heart rate monitoring system to the handle itself, considering standards for stationary bike handles. We will […]

Week 10 Report

We are still waiting to hear back from Krista about a good time to watch a max exertion test. We also continued to process through some possible design solutions using the TRIZ Design process. Through this process, we were able to identify major needs for improvement within our design, while also highlighting components of a […]

Week 7 Report

This week we worked to update our website. While doing this, we created a tab for the home page and a tab specifically for weekly reports. We also communicated with Dr. Kerri and her team in hopes of watching a max exertion test. We were planning on observing a test on Tuesday, but unfortunately, the […]

Week 6 Report

This week David worked to refine his Preliminary Presentation. We also reached out to Dr. Morgan about observing a max exertion test in the near future to gain better insight into the major problems at hand. We also made sure that our lab notebook was up to date with everything we have done up until […]
