    I’m a South Korean multimedia artist and poet, pursuing a BFA in Art with minors in Design and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. My work is grounded in my love for science fiction and strange organisms, feminist interpretations of the world, the social and spatial conditions I find myself in, and my experiences of growing up in Korea, leaving it, and coming back.

    Margaret Allen Crocker is a PhD student studying contemporary art’s intersections with gender and sexuality. She is interested in embodied viewing, video art, and immersive spaces. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin she graduated with a BA in the history of art from Smith College. She’s an amateur gardener, avid home cook, and advocate for mental health awareness, especially on college campuses.

Most of my time I spend playing and listening to music through WashU’s student radio group KWUR, spending time with my cat, or cooking new recipes. I’m passionate about environmental justice and am the communications graphics head for the divestment group Fossil Free WashU.

My work is informed by honoring and investigating the female experience and examining a way to become more inclusive in the design field. I believe in hybridity of process and product as a conceptual framework that shapes my practice; a meta-physical healing process; a ritual of social defiance. I owe black and brown women and non-men everything I know about activism.
